Glamorous Bavarian wants law to allow 7-year itch
Bavaria’s most glamorous politician — a flame-haired motorcyclist who helped bring down state premier Edmund Stoiber — has shocked the Catholic state in Germany by suggesting marriage should last just 7 years.
Although, I do understand marriage as something lasting, in the light of the number of marriages that go broke today (and the number of couples that do not part although their marriage is broken), I think this could be an interesting idea. Of course there are loads of difficult issues that need to be solved to make this a viable concept, but I don’t think it should be extinguished at this early state.
