Valve’s Portal

Here’s a trailer for Portal, a game from Valve that’s scheduled to ship with Half-Life 2: Episode 2. Portal uses, well, portals as a new game play mechanic that let players transport objects from place to place (sort of like the portable black holes in Bugs Bunny cartoons). Needless to say, Portal looks like a lot of fun.

Check out the release notes, download it, and give it a try.

Fun Uses For Your iPod nano

McSweeney’s has posted a list of 8 ways to use an iPod nano to kill someone according to an ex-marine.

My personal favourite is number 7:

7. Download to the Nano “We’ve Only Just Begun” by the Carpenters. Tell someone you will give him or her your Nano if they listen to that song a hundred times in a row.

Geekbench 2006

Geekbench 2006, the latest version of our cross-platform benchmark suite, has been released and is now available for download.

The biggest new feature in Geekbench 2006 is the online result browser, which lets you share and compare your Geekbench results with others.

So go ahead and give it a try.
